Are You in These Photo’s?
Talk about Every Picture Tells a Story, these photo’s could surely tell dozens.
My old mate Dave Collins ( Far Right above) has just sent these to me and I’ve spoken to Fred and he reckons we’re talking early eighties.
Now the thing is, are you one of the happy band of ABE brothers in these pictures taken on an Association of Barbel Enthusiast’s day at the Old Mill at Aldermaston?
If you are I would love to hear from you, just leave a message below. Better still, try and get along to the Enfield meeting next week for old times sake!
If you have good recollection of the day drop me a mail and a picture with your own story and I’ll happily put them up on here.
I can recognise a very young looking Dave, an incredibly fresh faced Dave Street and Stan Sear from my BCC days. Also Andy Field receiving the shield from Fred.
Looking forward to hearing from some of you!

I’m not!! Mind you I don’t think I was born then.
Rich.
Steve, in the second photo far left is Gerry Garafalo not sure thats the right spelling of his surname,he had a very bad car crash on the way home from the Kennet what a shame he was a really nice guy.
The guy holding the barbel with Fred is a young Pete Henwood and he don’t look that good now LOL.
The top photo on the far right just in front of me is Pat O’Brian and to the right of Fred is Ron Howe i can also see John Seager,I still see John now and again in Mac’s Cafe on the A4.
Hi Dave,
Fred often mentioned that crash and I know he used to visit Gerry after his accident. Very sad indeed. The other names you mention ring some bells and I’ve asked Fred to check the photo’s out next time he visits his daughter, he might even post some more names if she shows him how to work the computer!
Hope we see you next week.
Steve.
